Developed exclusively as expedition mitts for the Arctic and climbing high points beyond 8000 meters, the Outdoor Research Alti Mitts™ are your fingers' first and last defense against the cold realities of the most remote and inhospitable regions of our planet. Endorsed by legendary mountaineer Ed Viesturs, the Outdoor Research Alti Mitts™ use lightweight, waterproof and breathable ripstop nylon Ventia™ fabric backed with Moonlite Pile fleece insulation along the palms and 5-oz. PrimaLoft™ insulation along the back of the hands and thumbs. All this insulation doesn't include the separate liners, which feature additional Moonlite Pile fleece along the palms and 10-oz. PrimaLoft® along the back of the hands. Special AlpenGrip® LT friction tabs and strong Velcro® anchor points along the top and bottom of the wrist keep the liner from bunching or slipping inside the shell.
