Ideal for my snowshoeing... I've been snowshoeing several times and this time was hands down, my best experience, because of my new Outdoor Research Verglas Gaiters. My feet were not wet afterwards, which kept me warmer. My pant legs stayed dry even in the deeper powder. Love these gaiters would recommend them to anyone.

Archeologist point of view As an archaeologist I purchased a set of these gaiters not just for me but also for my wife who is also an archaeologist. These are great for keeping mud and dust from our boots and also for stopping poison ivy from getting all over our clothing and boots. I also agree that the top should be elasticated to help keep them tight. Apart from that they have been a great buy.

Quality Gaiter, Didn't fit Quality lightweight gaiter, but the top didn't close around my legs, leaving a gap. if you have skinny legs, you may want to consider the regular crocs or mountain hardwear gaiters that close better up top.
