Created with a large circumference that accommodates taller and larger outdoor enthusiasts, the ultra-warm, 0F-rated Goliath Sleeping Bag offers excellent comfort and features for camping--although you'll need a large capacity pack to accommodate the huge stuff sack for backpacking. Unlike some sleeping bags that force you to pay for features you'll never use, the Goliath Sleeping Bag gives you exactly what you need--including an affordable price tag. The Goliath features a synthetic (and fast-drying) Climashield HL synthetic fill with an overlapping shingle construction that traps air far better than those cheap knock-offs you find on clearance at the discount sporting good stores. The zippered hood can be left open for additional ventilation or you can cinch things up with the one-hand pull cords. Keep in mind that the Goliath has silky taffeta nylon along the shell and the lining, so it's great for cabin and tent camping--not sleeping outside in slightly damp conditions (although the synthetic Climashield HL will certainly retain some of its insulating properties if wet).

Comfortable with lots of room. Very warm! So many positives with this bag. Lots of room, very warm, great value. The toe box is a great idea. On cold nights I turn the heat down and jump into the bag. No need for heavy sweaters or socks with this bag. I haven't tried it outdoors but then again roughing it for me is a hotel without room service. I actually have two of these Goliaths!

It's North Face...that says it all! I'm 5'11'' with 46" chest, 36" waist & size 13 shoe. I tried the regular length Mt. Hardwear bag with the 8" expando panel built in...that bag barely fit me fully expanded, but was also too short. The Goliath bag fits great! I initially thought the Goliath toe box could be a couple inches longer, but after 1 night in the bag it was definitely roomy enough. Love the separate zipper for the toe box to cool the feet, and the foot warmer fleece insert was a pleasant treat in the 20 degree mornings (slept with no socks, tshirt or long underwear in blissful comfort). By the way, the return process was the best ever for the Mt. Hardwear bag...no hassles.

Comfortable, roomy, warm. I'm a touch over six feet and hate the confined feeling of typical mummy bags, not to mention the fight trying to get them zipped without ripping the bag. The Goliath is comfortable and roomy, lets me turn and sleep comfortably on my side, unlike the mummy bags I've used in the past. Also gives the room to zip up without a battle, no snagging, no hassle. Especially good is the velcro collar that keeps things closed up in the cold. Haven't been caught in the rain nor to zero yet, but down to fifteen degrees it's kept me plenty warm with only skivvies and a tshirt. Am delighted with it, and would buy the same bag again.
