Encore Chill slide is great for winter These are a very warm and comfortable shoe for the cold Wisconsin winters. I had a pair of Born shoes I was replacing and these are very worth the money and they exceeded my expectations. Great winter shoe

Merrell Encore Stitch Slide Shoes These shoes are the warmest shoes for the winter I have ever had. They are very very comfortable and look great. Merrell shoes have the best arch support of any shoes on the market. I would recommend them highly to anyone who has any kind of foot problem. I rate them excellent. Cozy and comfy! I love these shoes! I have owned two pairs of Merrell Primo Chill clogs (similar to the Encore Chill but with different styling) that I have worn almost exclusively the last couple of winters. This year I wanted to add some new colors but discovered that the new Encore Chill might be replacing the Primo Chill. So I ordered the new styles in both the brown suede and the smooth black leather. They are just as warm and comfortable as my old pairs and I am very happy with them. Style wise there is a difference in the tread (I'm not sure yet if this will make any difference in icy or snowy weather yet), the top stitching detail and the rubber piece in the front of the toe is slightly smaller in the newer model. I wear compression stockings so my feet are not bare, but I usually don't need to wear any additional socks except for in the coldest weather. I find them true to size with my stockings or thin socks. If I were really thick socks (like those nubby fleece types) they do fit more snugly of course, but I manage. With time (like the ones I have that are two years old) the interior fluff does matt down a bit, but it doesn't affect the comfort or the warmth, but it does make it easier to fit a thicker sock. They are supportive and really comfortable and I can wear them all day long and be on my feet all day and still feel good in them by bedtime. I highly recommend them.
