Not too heavy, nor too light, the Arc'teryx Men's Beta AR Jacket is your all-around solution for backcountry protection. Although it's cut a little shorter than some other models in the mountaineering-oriented Arc'teryx Ascent series, a drop back hem offers adequate coverage during active use. For the ultimate combination of strength, breathability, and waterproof protection, Arc'teryx chose GORE-TEX® 3-layer Pro fabrics for the Beta AR, using an extra-durable version in the shoulders and elbows, places that are likely to receive extra wear and tear. The permanently attached drop hood is helmet compatible and fully adjustable, and a laminated hem drawcord seals out bone-chilling spindrift. The Arc'tryx Beta AR Jacket for men also features WaterTight, laminated front, pit, and hand pocket zips, a technology that eliminates the need for bulky zipper flaps. This, along with micro seam allowances and the use of narrow seam tape noticeably reduces garment weight and improves suppleness.

beta a.r. I ordered my jacket from atrec.com because it was the best deal compared to all the major outdoor stores. I knew if I went to the store and try on the product to determine what I want, I would then know what to order online. I then compare value. Trust me, there was no one out there that was able to give me a great deal than altrec.com.

Outdoor clothing raised to high art Right after I received the beta AR jacket I got to put it through it's paces in a severe storm on the Oregon coast. It was a case where you really do get what you pay for. This jacket was absolutely dry, wind proof and didn't flap in the wind. Extremely mobile athletic cut and perfect stitching. I've used several parkas over the years from top makers, but this definitely is the best of the best.
