Black Diamond Equipment: Lighthouse Tent - Altrec.com Product Description:

A spacious and superlight two-person, three-season tent, the Lighthouse is built on a simple, space-maximizing footprint. Using a two-and-a-half pole design, the Lighthouse walls are steep with awnings on both sides, over the small back window and over the full-size front door, which has a full no-see-um mesh panel for bug-free fresh air in nice weather. The EPIC canopy is breathable, water resistant and packs down small. The floor is built from durable, tear-resistant, double-silicone-coated nylon ripstop. The Lighthouse's two interior net pockets help keep things organized inside.

  • Two-Person, well-ventilated design
  • Built on Bibler Eldorado footprint with Ahwahnee-style full side-door entry
  • EPIC by Nextec fabric
  • Optional vestibule for gear storage

packable tent Purchased this tent because of its pack size and weight, was pleased with its construction and easy of put up and tack down. Used on a 4 day duel sport ride from Nevada to Utah, lots of dust and dirt, cleaned up with just a hose was down. I agree with Adam about the seams and the inclosed tube... not sure I want to test it in much of a rain storm.

Best fast-n-light climbing tent I've ever used ... I love everything about this tent. It's incredibly small when packed ... just as small and almost as light as a hooped bivy sack, yet is much more confidence inspiring. It comes with two separate stuff-sacks for the poles and the tent, which is brilliant in my mind since I've never carried poles in the sack with the tent. While not big enough for a party, the tent is plenty roomy for two tired climbers (my partner and I are both 6'2".) The walls are steep ... which makes it easy to move around in. The awning design on top allows you to open the vent on the back side and to keep part of the front door zipped down in all but the worst blow. Setup and tear-down are a breeze. Did I mention that this thing is LIGHT??!! Seriously ... I wouldn't use this for a primary tent for an expedition ... nor would I want to use it anywhere but up high on the snow as I think it would be pretty miserable in wet, humid weather. The coating on the fabric has a static-like attraction to anything that touches it ... so I would hate to try to clean it up after being on dirt or mud. I'm also a little mystified that BD doesn't seam seal this tent at the factory (though they do include seam sealer, contrary to many reviews you'll find on the net). BUT ... if you want a super-light, designed-by-a-climber-for-a-climber, alpine assault tent .... THIS IS THE ONE.
