The BEST mid-hiker money can buy, period! Look no farther, if you want a mid-hiker with tremendous tread (way better and more rugged than is pictured above), along with perfect weight, fit and performance then go with the Perimeter Gore-Tex Hiking boot! I took these out the first day I got them and put them to the test hiking through snow, then the next day beat them up in the muddy/water soaked trails and they were awesome -- they were soaked on the outside, but dry on the inside! Better still, these boots do not need to be tightly laced on top, in fact a modest-tightened boot, especially where the top bend is is best. Bottom line, you will love the fit -- way better than just a shoe, and not overley-ridged like a heavier full-pack boot. Order a pair and you'll see just what I'm talking about!

Another great Merrell product I've been a long time fan of Merrell shoes, but this was my first boot purchase from them. I ordered the same size of boot that I wear in their shoes. They fit right out of the box better than numerous other boots I tried. The heel fits great and the toe box is very roomy. I've been wearing them around town as a break in period without any hotspots or problems. Being new to hiking boots, I'm not sure if they should fit a tad more snug, but I would recommend to others to start with your normal shoe size. I don't feel my foot sliding around at all, but then again I'm not on rough terrain with a weighted pack. At worst I will wear a liner/thicker sock to compensate. Thus far I am pleased with my purchase.

The Boots Have Beem Very Good The boots fit real well and are pretty comfortable. I live and hike in Wisconsin. We have had a lot of snow this winter. I have used the boots with and without snowshoes, and the boots have kept my feet warm and dry in both cases. Shipping of the boots was very quick. In about a day and a half after I ordered the boots, the boots were on my front porch.
