4 All pieces and parts of the hydration pack worked extremely well on the first "test drive" hike of 13 miles. The only fault (if you want to call it that) is the limited space -- almost none -- for other hiking basic items. This requires you to use a fanny pack in addition to the hydration pack. I didn't mind, but some others might.
