Surprised and slightly disappointed I have owned and loved and tested the limits of the soft sided North Face bags for over 10 years now. I just knew that this would be the panacea to the no wheels issue. Unfortunately, there is a significant trade off; the weight of the rolling mechanism. With the 50 pound limits we are facing on airlines these days it is already more than easy to reach that with the large North Face duffels... Since the duffels have the shoulder straps already, I think I'm opting for remaining with the no wheels versions. On a plus note, the bag is extremely well made and appears exceedingly durable. It is only available in black, sadly, and I am sure it will take me wherever. Also, it's hard to find a bigger capacity anywhere, so that's a plus. So, basically, this is a halfhearted recommendation, all things considered.
