nice backpack I ordered this backpack for a trip to Europe. It has a big enough volume to handle food and clothes for 2 weeks. Another important merit is its lightness. I feel comfortable with it.

Awesome alpine pack I bought this pack specifically for a rainier climb. did an acclimatization trek to 10k with about 65lbs worth of gear and it felt like I was carrying 30lbs. Excellent lateral stability; the pack doesn't sway it clings to your back. The Vari-quick adjustment system is awesome in that you can micro adjust the pack fit according to the size of the load in about 15 seconds whereas other packs take bending and moulding to do the same. The pack is bomber, solidly built for euro style alpinism and trekking. The small pouch in the hipbelt was great for handy access items like a small gps/topo/compass or power bars. Overall a great pack because of its usability/quality/fit rivals some ospreys I've used but at a fraction of the price!

High quality, but... After reading many positive reviews on this backpack and doing some research, I decided to give it a go and ordered one. Upon receiving it, I immediately noticed its excellent craftsmanship and overall quality. The materials it's made out of seemed durable and strong during initial inspection. However, after loading up the pack with some gear for a trial run, I noticed it felt rather awkward for me and as a result seemed somewhat uncomfortable. I tried rearranging the gear inside and making some suspension adjustments but to no avail. As a result, I sent it back to Altrec for a refund (at no fault of their own, of course). Had my torso been even just an inch smaller, the pack would most likely felt much more comfortable and natural on my back. If that were the case, I would easily have given this backpack a 5 star rating instead of a 3 star rating. Again, this is no one's fault but my own. Regardless of the fitting issues, this pack 's overall quality, lightness, and apparent durability seem more than adequate.
