er, not what I expected I ordered this jacket in Fern green, which looked online to be a bright, kind of granny smith apple green. well, it's actually a soft, muted army green. ok, I still like it. maybe even more than the color I was expecting. it has a soft sheen to it, much like sateen (not satin) sheets, & the ivy design is not actually embroidered, but it's an interesting negative-pattern effect, which is cool. it sort of shows up when you look at an angle. :) I ordered a large-> I usually wear a med/large. I'm 5'5", proportioned, not a heifer, not a supermodel. this coat has sleeves that would fit my 6'3" husband! no kidding. they are abnormally long for the size of this jacket (like Denise Huxtable made it) and I felt dwarfed by the odd puffiness at the wrist; sort of like a kid wearing her mom's coat. still excited, I attempt to zip her up. it's tough. zipper is actually great quality, but the shape of this thing is soo long (hence 'parka length') and too narrow in the hip. It is designed to completely cover the rear end. so, to fit in this jacket correctly, one should be about 5'10"ish, long-armed, broad in the shoulder, with no hips to speak of. more like a linebacker than a woman. a green linebacker. I thought there was more of a cut-in shape at the natural waist, but it's minimal. And what do you do if you don't want the hood up or take it off? leave the flaps a-wavin'? awkward. some good points: eco-friendly. love that. color IS nice. she's waterproof & not bulky. pit vent zips with mesh, velcro down the front instead of actual buttons/holes, the snow skirt is able to snap to your pants(but actually hits below the hip & I'm extra long-torsoed), goggle pocket with detachable wipe just inside the outer opening at breast level, the side pockets zip down, not up, it has a deep inner pocket in which you could smuggle a small wallaby if you had one, and the buttons are the size of quarters & sort of swirled tigers eye patterned. you can easily access the hem elastic adjustment thingy from inside the pockets. that's a nice feature. there's also a similar tightener at the back of the hood, separate from the face pulls, which I haven't seen before. I love the look of the coat, but I just don't know if I can make it work for me. it's not flattering on, & it wasn't cheap, even on sale. bummed.

Great Jacket I ordered the jacket in ivory and it's a great color. The sizes are a bit smaller so I'd order one size up. I had to exchange mine.

Beautiful, waterproof breathable, long enough! I have a difficult time finding a snowboard/ski coat that is long enough in the torso and sleeves. I am almost 5'11" and this one is perfect. Plus, it's got great technical features like pitzips, powderskirt, pockets and is 10K waterproof, 10K breathable (had to write Betty Rides company to get those specs). If you are tall, you will love this jacket. In fact, my 5'7" daughter says it's great for her since she likes the sleeves long. Also the fabric is very attractive with an ivy pattern woven in.

Is this Useful? - Yes - No ( 1 of 2 thought this was useful.)
