Pretty good It's really comfortable and a great size for me. I have back/neck problems and I've noticed some improvement since I started using the hip belt (great since I attend a large university and carry a lot of textbooks). The only thing I don't necessarily like (and I didn't realize this when ordering) was there's no large second -zippered- pocket. There is another pocket, but has a buckle rather than a zipper. So my concern was items falling out or getting wet if it rained.
