comfortable it's really not a slip on; because of my high instep, I need a shoe horn to get it on. And the top of the shoe can be a little uncomfortable on my high instep after several hours. But overall it's very comfy, and the sole grips very well. I like the shoe, but for people like me (with high insteps) I'd recommend sticking to Merrell's
