Great for travelling light RR's global traveler pants are excellent for taking a light (carry on only) load for a 2-3 week trip during the spring/summer/fall. They look stylish, especially the shale. You can wear them with a normal belt and they can pass for non-trekking wear in restaurants and museums. A very light feel, which is great during the summer, but probably not appropriate for the winter without thermal long underwear. Best part is you can bring only one or two pairs on a long trip, wash in the sink when needed and they will dry quickly and avoid pronounced wrinkling. Overall, a great buy for the light traveler (see onebag dot com) who wants to blend in with more normal looking pants and not look like they are on a safari in Florence.

Exceptional for work, play and travel. These are the most versatile pants I have ever owned. I travel a lot for work and these pants pack small, hang out without wrinkles and are dressy enough for meetings. More importantly, these are great pants for play. They are resistant to wind and water and are surprisingly warm considering their lightness. I have worn them for hiking, paddling and Nordic skiing (I'm too old for tights). I've yet to be cold even in Minnesota but have yet to be out in below zero temps. I would recommend these pants without qualification.
