Warm as Toast I had used the Zeus down jacket as a layer but found it did not provide enough warmth and the fabric was not strong enough to wear outside a shell. The mountain down jacket fabric is very strong and waterproof for short exposure to wet weather, since it is not seam taped( no need for shell for few hours exposure). This is a jacket for low impact physical activity (downhill skiing) and wearing around camp for cold weather camping. It is 650 down fill and will compress with compression sack to size of a football. I wear this with only a t-shirt to walk the dog or go around town on cold days (20-30 degrees), not a fall weather jacket but a good cold weather jacket that will stop the wind, rain and sleet. Worth the price to add to your winter outdoor wear.
