One pair does all. Columbia knows outdoor needs This pant/short is the ultimate in versatility. Very well fitting, light and fast drying. Good looking style and function even to wear as casual to work. The side elastic is small and does not bunch or roll.In fact, you do not even know it is there as compared to other pants with elastic. I am a 32' waist so went with the MED and it fits comfortable but not too loose. The 10" short inseam is a nice long length. I will buy another pair.

Great pants & excellent fit The Silver Ridge II convertable pant has a very good fit and it's cool to wear on hot summer days. I like the extra leg pockets plus the zipper pocket in the back is great for secure holding. I have a 32 waist and ordered the Small size with 34 inseam length and it fits great!
