Perfect Shoe for the Job Bought these for a kayak trip. Extremely comfortable and kept out the sand and rocks much better than any other water shoe I have had in the past. I would highly recommend this shoe to anyone looking for a durable and comfortable shoe that looks great.

Recommended I tried on several different brands and types of "water shoe" before I purchased these, including shoes by Salomon, Land's End, and Keen. Nothing else was nearly as comfortable; most of the others felt like they had some rough edges inside that could lead to blisters when worn without socks. The SM920, by contrast, is like a pillow inside. Also, they dried out faster than my friend's Salomons (don't expect miracles, however; I'd estimate the shoes need 12 hours or so to dry completely). Unlike other water shoes, the SM920 also feels sturdy enough for pretty serious out-of-the-water exercise. With a pair of socks, I wouldn't be afraid to hike a few miles in these shoes, or maybe even run. I bought the shoes for a rafting trip and they were perfect. The soles are very smooth, so I'm not sure I'd trust them for, say, scrambling over rocks on a dry hike. But they're very grippy on any kind of a wet surface, including slick rocks and river bottom. My only minor complaints: The shoes are pretty bulky, so you couldn't use them to replace a dive bootie, for example -- they won't fit inside a pair of fins. They're also not easy to swim in. The shoes are also pretty pricey. You can get decent Land's End water shoes for a third of the price. (However, to me the extra money was worth the additional comfort and sturdiness.)

what a great water shoe! My wife and I ordered several pair of water shoes from different manufacturers and in different sizes to determine what we wanted. I ultimately chose the New Balance SM920 water shoe. I had a chance to try them out at the local pool and I am delighted with my choice! Pros - this is a tennis shoe that you can take into the water. All the others were water shoes that were not quite tennis shoes. New Balance makes a quality, comfortable shoe that fit in all the right places. It is VERY comfortable to walk in and I look forward to taking it to water parks later this summer. It drains well and provides good coverage of your foot as well (not fond of sunburns.) Cons - I wish it was not so expensive, but I did like it the best of the ones we considered... by quite a bit. That's worth something I guess. If it was a tad cheaper I would have given it five stars. Note - as I have seen mentioned before this shoe runs smaller than you expect. I wear a 10.5 and I bought an 11 that fits perfectly. I recommend buying a shoe in this model that is 1/2 size larger than you usually wear.
