Burton: Women's Troop Snowboard

Developed as a lightweight, female-specific freestyle snowboard built with plenty of lively (and lovely…) pop, the Burton Troop is an ideal choice for flying fast and free above pipes, berms and groomed runs. This season Burton gave it a new softer flex and a reduced camber so you enjoy a better (even buttery) feel on the snow. Burton also gave it a new Pro Tip profile along the tip and tail that reduces the overall swing weight while enhancing powder floatation. New flex aside, all the best Troop features remain the same. This Troop incarnation still features the popular and proven Super Fly wood core with Dualzone Edge Grain Direction at the toe and the heel. Dualzone Edge Grain Direction improves the edging and adds durability without smothering the pop in unwanted weight. This distinct wood core is wrapped in a long layer of Triax Response fiberglass topped off with two more diagonal layers, resulting in a torsional stiffness that makes for intuitive carving and easy turn initiation. Burton's Pressure Distribution Edges beneath the binding areas extend out a half-millimeter more than the rest of the board for better grip on slick and unyielding ice or hardpack. While the Pressure Distribution Edges add grip, the modification doesn't mess with the Troop's intuitive, user-friendly feel. This is a great all-mountain design that's ideal for intermediates who already like to carve, but want to spend a little more of their learning curve among the challenges across the rest of the mountain, including the pipe and park.
